The winter of strike action is set to continue as more sectors get ready to walk out over pay and conditions. The next round of strikes include teaching staff and civil servants.
There is expected to be wide spread disruption as staff head to picket lines across Nottingham and the rest of England. We have complied a list of the strikes taking place over the next few weeks.
They include:

Court staff strikes
Some members of the PCS union, which includes legal advisers and court associates, will go on strike in England and Wales. The industrial action is due to a dispute about a digital case management system known as Common Platform.
They will strike on January 21 and 28.
Civil Servant strikes
About 100,000 civil servants in 124 government departments and other bodies are on strike in a dispute over pay and conditions on February 1.
Teacher strikes
Across England and Wales, teachers who are members of the National Education Union (NEU) will go on strike on February 1. Disruption is expected to be widespread across the country.
University strikes
150 universities will see staff take industrial action on February 1. The University of Nottingham will be affected but not Nottingham Trent University.
Train strikes
Members of the ASLEF Union are due to strike Wednesday, February 1 and Friday, February 3, 2023. The planned walkouts will affect 17 rail companies, including East Midlands Railway.
EMR are telling passengers not to travel on those dates as their services will not operate. Check the EMR website for further details nearer the time.
Nurse and ambulance strikes
Royal College of Nursing members will be on strike on Monday, February 6 and Tuesday, February 7. In the East Midlands this includes, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust.
Unite ambulance staff in the East Midlands are also set to strike on February 20, March 6 and March 20.
Physiotherapist strikes
More than 4,200 Chartered Society of Physiotherapy members will strike on January 26. A second day of strikes at an additional 30 trusts will follow on February 9 as part of the ongoing dispute over pay and retention.
Members at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust will strike on January 26.
