All the TV shows being filmed in Bristol right now

The likes of Universal Studios and the BBC have descended on Bristol this week to film new dramas. Our city is a popular location for big budget productions, and it's not the rarest occurrence to spot a film crew when you're out and about in Bristol.

Film crews have been spotted dotted across Bristol on Monday 18, Wednesday 20, Thursday 21 and Friday 22 July this week. Two highly anticipated drama series are currently being filmed across the city.

People have even spotted a film star on set. From BS2 to BS10, production companies have been taking advantage of Bristol's grand architecture and attractions to film.

On Monday, July 18, Universal International Studios were spotted filming Dodger at Wills Memorial Building near Park Street in the city centre. The popular drama series for children follows The Artful Dodger from Oliver Twist in the years before Charles Dickens' classic novel was set.

Set in Victorian London, filmed partly in Bristol, the first series saw an all-star cast. Actors such as Billy Jenkins from The Crown and previous Doctor Who Christopher Eccleston took leading roles.

On Wednesday, July 20, Universal International Studios were spotted again, this time at Blaise Castle Estate in BS10. The crew were filming in Blaise Museum, which shares the history of Blaise House, and the estate's landscaping.

Blaise Castle is a popular Bristol attraction. A 650-acre Grade II-registered parkland, the museum and castle set a grand backdrop for a Victorian drama.

On Thursday, July 21, BBC film crews were spotted over in Westbury-on-Trym. Filming is currently underway for a new, highly anticipated crime series called The Sixth Commandment.

The crime series follows the deaths of Peter Farquhar and Anne Moore-Martin. Filming took place on Thursday at The Mouse pub in Westbury-on-Trym.

And on Friday (22 July), film star Timothy Spall was spotted at Portland Square as filming for The Sixth Commandment moved to St Paul's. Spall plays lead, Peter Farquhar, who was murdered in 2015.

Churchwarden, Benjamin Field, was jailed for murdering author, Peter Farquhar, in an attempt to inherit his estate. Farquhar died in October 2015 in Maids Moreton, a village in Buckinghamshire, after Field duped Farquhar and Ann Moore-Martin into fake relationships in order to alter Peter's will, and the BBC series covers this shocking crime.
