All the schools in Newport with reported cases of coronavirus since pupils returned in March

Thirteen schools in Newport have recorded positive cases of coronavirus since pupils returned to classrooms in March.

In February the Welsh Government announced plans for the phased return of all primary school pupils from March 15 along with learners in years 10 and 12, those in exam years and students doing similar qualifications in colleges. It followed the return of some younger primary school pupils in late February, while the vast majority of the remaining students returned from April 12 onwards.

But a number of schools have reported outbreak of coronavirus since returning. Dozens of pupils at Pontprennau Primary School were forced to self-isolate within a few days of returning on March 15 after 21 cases were reported within the school.

This week an entire year group at Gowerton School in Swansea was told to self-isolate after a single cases was found in year seven. And there have been confirmed cases of Covid-19 in 13 schools across Newport so far, according to new statistics from Newport City Council.

Here's a list of the schools in Newport with confirmed cases since March 15, and the quarantine end date for those told to self isolate after each case. Newport council has confirmed there have not been any full school closures, and the following information relates to either year groups or bubbles within those year groups.
