Leeds hospitals are not currently allowing people to visit their friends and relatives, except under special circumstances.
According to the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust the rules, state visitors will not be allowed into the hospital unless the patient is at the end of their life, due to the risks associated with the pandemic.
Children will also be allowed two named carers who can visit at any time but only one person may stay with them overnight.
Anyone giving birth will also be allowed one birthing partner.
There are other exceptions to this such as supporting patients with dementia or sitting with a patient who is at risk of falling.
Wards have been encouraged by the Trust to evaluate the need for visitors on a case by case basis, so if you are unsure of whether you are able to visit you should contact the hospital.
All visitors must show a negative lateral flow test and wear a face mask unless they are medically exempt.
You may send belongings to your loved ones or write letters.
Phone calls and other video call apps may also be available, you should contact the head Nurse to organise a chat.
