We've rounded up all the jobs on offer in Wales, along with the contract, hours, shift and hourly rate:

Posties and sorting

On the website, the Royal Mail describes their postie and sorting teams as "the heartbeat of everything we do".

It explains that posties are responsible for collecting the day's deliveries from the sorting office, which they then deliver to the community, while the sorting teams process mail arriving from around the country.

They're currently looking for permanent and fixed-term part-time posties who can drive and deliver in nine regions: Llandrindod Wells, Newport East, Newport West, Aberdare, Swansea, Haverfordwest, Pontypridd, Caldicot and Bridgend.

You must have a full UK manual driving licence and, in terms of personal qualities, they're looking for someone who's upbeat and self-motivated, loves the outdoors, has a good level of fitness, has excellent organisation, is resilient and is flexible.

The shift times vary across the locations - for example, you could be required to work flexibly between the hours of 7am until 7pm, or between 9am until 3pm. But all the jobs adverts state you'll be spending between four to six hours delivering mail outdoors, working for up to 30 hours in total, five days a week (which could be on weekends).

The hourly rate for all jobs is £10.85 if you're over 18, and £8.44 if you're 17. All also have an additional £5.83 per hour Sunday premium, a weekly supplement of £26.61 (pro rata) and in some locations an area allowance is payable.

Cleaners

Royal Mail is looking for cleaners for its delivery offices in Porthmadog and Prestatyn.

Both are part-time permanent roles, which pay £8.91 per hour. This salary will increase to £9.35 per hour after 24 months.

Both have 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays, and you're required to work six hours per week, Monday to Saturday, from 10am to 11am.

The job advert states: "As a commercial cleaning operative you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including mopping, toilet cleaning, washing walls, vacuuming, emptying bins, dusting and sanitising surfaces safely and professionally to a high standard.

"We require someone who can operate specialist cleaning equipment - however, full training is provided with a first-day induction. This role will be physically challenging and involves manual handling activities."

Previous cleaning experience is "desired, but not essential".

In terms of personal qualities, they require someone who is, naturally friendly, has good written and verbal communication skills, reliable, self-motivated, has a keen eye for detail, is able to to work on their own initiative, and can organise their own time.

Apprenticeships

The postal service is looking for apprentice heavy vehicle technicians in Cardiff and Camarthen.

The job adverts explain that Royal Mail has 50,000 vehicles – including 6,000 HGVs & trailers – which makes the fleet one of the largest in the UK.

"To keep it efficient and effective we rely on a team of vehicle technicians to handle everything from routine servicing to major component rebuilds and vehicle modifications all whilst keeping up with rapidly changing vehicle technology including electric vehicles," the adverts state.

This apprenticeship scheme offers successful applicants on-the-job training and classroom learning. It's a three-year programme, starting in September 2022. The starting salary is £13,129 to £20,063, depending on age and location, and it rises each year of the programme and on completion of the programme. The salary on completion of the programme is a minimum of £27,801 per year. Three GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths, English and Science, at grade C or higher, are required.

The salary on completion of the scheme is a minimum of £31,024 per year. In the first year, you are required to undertake a 33-week residential course in Blackburn. Five GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths, English and Science, at grade C/4 or higher, are required.
