All the roadworks happening in Greater Manchester this week

Road works can be a pain for all those travelling both in and out of the city.

Below is a comprehensive and helpful guide to all the roadworks across Manchester and in your area, to give you a head start in planning your journey and avoiding pit falls.

This is what to expect over the coming week according to Transport for Greater Manchester.

Central Manchester

  • There are currently no planned major roadworks due to take place in Central Manchester this week.

Manchester

  • Two-Way signals will be in place on Rochdale Road, at its junction with Pine Street, until Friday 15 April for works between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

  • A lane closure will be in place on Middleton Road at the junction with Old Hall Road in Manchester from 5th - 8th April. The work is taking place between 9:30 am - 3:30pm and is being undertaken by Telefonica (O2 (UK) Limited).

Bolton

  • A lane closure will be in place on Bolton Road in Farnworth at the junction of Alfred Street from 4th April - 4th May. The lane closure will be in place weekdays only, the work is being undertaken by BT.
Roadworks (Liverpool Echo)

Bury

  • Multi-way signals will be in place on Whalley Road in Ramsbottom at Spring Street from 4th - 8th April. Times for the work are not specified, the work is being undertaken by Last Mile Electricity Limited.

Oldham

  • A lane closure will be in place o/s 229a Oldham Road in Failsworth from 1st - 7th April. The work is taking place between 09:30am - 3:30pm and is being undertaken by Electricity North West.

Rochdale

Salford

  • There will be lane closures in place at the following locations for the Trafford Road improvement scheme; Regent Road roundabout, Broadway, Goodiers Drive, Trafford Road and Merchants Quay. The work is taking place until April 2022.

  • A lane closure will be in place on Bolton Road in Swinton o/s Pendlebury Social Club from 1st - 7th April. Times for the work are not specified, the work is being undertaken by Virgin Media.

  • Road closure in place eastbound on Eccles New Road, Salford between Weaste Road and Langworthy Road from Monday 4 April until Saturday 30 April, times unspecified. This work is for Metrolink Track replacement

Roadworks (Kenny Brown)

Stockport

  • A lance closure will be in place on A555 Manchester East Airport Link, Woodford from Gilbent Roundabout to Woodford Road from Wednesday 16 March to Monday 4 April between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

  • Stockport Road East, Bredbury Multi-way signals will be in place on Stockport Road East in Bredbury at John Street to Red House Lane from 1st - 6th April. The work is taking place 7:00am-7:00pm and is being undertaken by Electricity North West.

Tameside

  • Two-way signals will be in place on Manchester Road (outside house 255) until 3 June. Work will take place 9.30am to 3.30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and from 10pm on Saturdays to 8am on Sundays.

Trafford

  • There are currently no planned major roadworks due to take place in Trafford this week.

Wigan

  • There is a lane closure in place on King Street, from the junction with Wallgate, until Sunday 10 April.
  • Two-way signals will be in place on Newbrook Road in Atherton from o/s 277 to o/s 141 Newbrook Road from 4th - 6th April. The work will take place between 8:00am- 6:00pm and will be undertaken by Cadent Gas Ltd.
