With I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! officially over for another year and the Strictly Come Dancing 2022 final fast approaching, reality television fans will be looking towards the new year for their entertainment show fix. And while many of us are completely gripped by BBC's new nail-biting competition, The Traitors, that too will soon come to an end to make way for a string of Christmas specials over the festive period.
However, reality television will be back with a bang in January 2023 with some major shows hitting the schedules, including the second series of Winter Love Island, which will be hosted by new presenter Maya Jama, and the return of Dancing On Ice.
The hugely popular The Masked Singer is also set to make a comeback for season four, while Lord Alan Sugar has already confirmed a start date for The Apprentice. SAS: Who Dares Wins is also back with a brand new chief instructor and location.

With so much on in the new year it might be difficult to keep up, so we've set out all the reality TV landing in January 2023 so you don't miss out. Here's everything we know so far.
The Masked Singer
Ring in the new year with season four of The Masked Singer UK. The popular competition sees viewers and the judging panel, made up of Davina McCall, Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan, guess which famous face is hiding behind the mask.
Season three's finale saw Welsh chart topper Charlotte Church revealed to be Mushroom, while football legend Michael Owen was unmasked as Doughnuts and international superstar, Natalie Imbruglia, was unveiled as Panda. Starting on ITV1 on Sunday, January 1 , the series will see Joel Dommett return to his hosting duties as he gets ready to introduce a new batch of unbelievably bizarre and unique characters to the stage.
The broadcaster has also confirmed that twelve brand-new celebrities will join the line-up in 2023 in an attempt to sing in disguise and stump the panel and viewers alike.
The Apprentice
Lord Alan Sugar's long-standing reality series is back in the new year, for season 17. A whopping 18 candidates will take part in 2023, all hoping for a partnership with the business mogul.
Alan has confirmed the return date for the new series will be Thursday, January 5 2023. Taking to Twitter, he wrote: "Less than a month to the NEW SERIES of @bbcapprentice - starts Thursday 5th January on @BBCOne and @BBCiPlayer. I'll be expecting you in my boardroom at 9pm sharp.
"I'm hoping that on this series #TheApprentice candidates won't make the same mistakes as in previous years."
Winter Love Island
Fans of the popular dating show will be pleased to know they get a double billing of Love Island in 2023. ITV bosses have confirmed the show will be returning to South Africa in the new year for the second series of Winter Love Island.
The new season is expected to kick off in January with new host Maya Jama, and although an official start date hasn't been confirmed, earlier this year Executive Producer at Lifted Entertainment, Mike Spencer, said the new series would be airing in January.
He said: "After eight brilliant series, we are excited to be serving up two helpings of love in 2023 by kicking off in January at a stunning new villa in South Africa."
Director of Reality Commissioning and Controller, ITV2, Paul Mortimer, added "Love Island has once again proved itself to be the nation’s favourite talking point across the summer, and we’re always blown away by the show’s ongoing impact and talkability amongst our younger audience. So, rather than just serving up a Summer of Love, we thought we’d make 2023 the Year of Love with two full series of the show."
It's been widely speculated that the start date could be Monday, January 16, although this hasn't been confirmed by ITV. The first ever winter series kicked off on Sunday, January 12 in 2020 and saw Finn Tapp and Paige Turley win and take hom the £50,000 prize pot.
SAS: Who Dares Wins
SAS: Who Dares Wins returns to Channel 4 in January with the most savage selection course yet. Show bosses have also confirmed the new six-part series will take place in a new location and with a staff team shake-up.
20 new recruits will head to the deepest, darkest, most unforgiving jungle in the world, in Thung Ui, North Vietnam. Leading the Directing Staff (DS) this series, will be Billy (Mark Billingham), who spent half his decorated military career serving in the jungle. He will be joined by returning DS, Foxy (Jason Fox), Rudy Reyes and brand new member of the DS team, Chris Oliver, a former Special Forces Operator.
As the series’ DS with the most jungle warfare military experience, Billy Billingham MBE is also taking over the Chief Instructor reigns in 2023. "Having been a DS on actual military SAS selection and Chief Instructor at the British Army Jungle Warfare Training School in Brunei, there is nobody better placed than myself to lead the recruits through this treacherous environment.
"I'm looking forward to challenging and encouraging the new recruits. However, I will not be accepting any excuses - this will be the toughest course to date!"
While an exact start date hasn't been confirmed, SAS: Who Dares Wins will air on Channel 4 in early 2023.
Dancing On Ice
The next series of Dancing on Ice is set to kick off in early 2023 and although an official start date is yet to be confirmed, bosses have said the show, which is created and produced by Lifted Entertainment, will return to ITV and ITVX in the new year.
A star-studded line-up of celebrities and professional skaters has already been announced. Famous faces taking part this year include Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, DJ Patsy Palmer, football legend John Fashanu, Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson and Coronation Street’s Mollie Gallagher.
As well as Drag Queen and TV personality The Vivienne, TV personality Joey Essex, comedian Darren Harriott, actress and West End star Carley Stenson, singer Michelle Heaton and The Wanted’s Siva Kaneswaran.
