All the planned M4 closures in Newport and Cardiff from January 24

A number of road closures are planned along the M4 near Newport from Monday, January 24.

Several areas of the road will be closed overnight this week in order to carry out maintenance work with motorists in Newport, Cardiff and Swansea expected to be impacted.

Here are the areas which will be closed this week:

  • M4 eastbound, junction 34 : The exit slip road of the M4 at junction 34 Miskin will be closed overnight until Friday January 28 due to maintenance work.
    The eastbound slip road will be closed between 8pm and 6am each evening.
  • M4 eastbound, junction 32 : Clearance work will close the entry slip road to the M4 eastbound at junction 32 Coryton overnight until February 5 between 8pm and 6am.
  • M4 eastbound, junctions 37-35 : The M4 will be shut eastbound overnight between junction 37 Pyle and junction 35 Pencoed to allow maintenance work to take place.
    It will be closed between 8pm and 6am on Monday January 24 and Tuesday January 25, reopening at 6am on Wednesday.
  • M4 eastbound, junctions 24A-23A : the M4 will be closed between junction 24A Coldra and junction 23A Magor between 8pm on Monday and 6am on Tuesday.
    This is to allow resurfacing work to take place.
  • M4 westbound, junction 23 : The M4 will be shut westbound between the Prince of Wales Bridge and junction 23 Rogiet between 9pm and 6am on Monday night and Tuesday night to carry out maintenance work.
