All the National Trust job vacancies in Bristol and how much they pay

If you've ever visited a National Trust site and envisioned yourself working in such a place, then this could be your lucky day.

The National Trust currently has a number of local vacancies for some very interesting and exciting job roles.

From managing your own team at Tyntesfield, welcoming visitors through the door and showing off where you work on a daily basis, to showcasing your conservation knowledge and helping keep sites in tip-top condition, there might just be something up your street.

The Trust currently lists four 'Bristol' jobs on its website, with some offering flexible working locations and even the opportunity to spend some of your time working at other National Trust locations across the South West, too.

Welcome Manager

Location: Tyntesfield, Wraxall, near Bristol, North Somerset, BS48 1NT

Contract: Permanent, part-time

Salary: £10.63 per hour

Closing date: February 11, 2022

A little bit about the role: This new role is split between two people who will be responsible for heading up the staff and volunteer team, to welcome visitors and help them enjoy their visit.

As one of the most senior people on site, you will lead and empower your team to respond to customer enquiries and site issues and be the face of the National Trust.

You'll be experienced in managing people, delivering outstanding customer service and leading on risk management.

Administration Co-ordinator

Location: Based at any one of the Trust's four South West hubs (Bodmin, Bristol, Exeter or Tisbury)

Contract: Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week)

Salary: £20,721 pa

Closing date: February 13, 2022

A little bit about the role: This role would be part of the National Trust's Business Services team and can be based at any of its four hubs - including here in Bristol.

The Trust is looking for an individual who won't be fazed by speaking up and suggesting new and innovative ways of working and, whatever your interest or career aspirations, the National Trust says it will "do [its] best to align your work to help support this".

As well as providing administrative services across the region, this role will have responsibility for providing direct support to three members of the management team and will also have the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting projects and offer advice beyond their team.

Rural Asset Management Officer (8 positions available)

Location: You'll be based at one of the following locations (at least two days a week), supporting a range of properties:

  • Hughenden Manor, Bucks
  • Polesden Lacey, Surrey
  • Scotney Castle, Kent
  • Micheldever Hub Office, Hampshire
  • Bristol Hub
  • Tisbury Hub, Wiltshire
  • Killerton, Devon
  • Lanhydrock, Cornwall

Contract: Fixed term, full-time (37.5 hours per week until March 31, 2024)

Salary: £28,400 pa

Closing date: February 20, 2022

A little bit about the role: There are eight positions available, each successful candidate will provide a reliable technical support service to a team, ensuring they are the go-to person for helping other teams in the National Trust navigate systems and processes.

The job advert reads: "Our 16 let estate teams are made up of estate management and buildings professionals who manage our diverse let estate portfolio throughout Northern Ireland, Wales and England.

"They are involved in the full tenancy lifecycle for a range of land and property including residential, commercial and agricultural as well as ensuring ongoing maintenance and investment in them."

Rural Surveyor

Location: Bristol Regional Office, Leigh Court, Bristol

Contract: Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week)

Salary: £40,000 pa

Closing date: February 13, 2022

A little bit about the role: The National Trust is seeking a Rural Practice Chartered Surveyor to work as part of the Somerset & Gloucestershire Estate Management team based in Bristol.

This role supports the management of the Trust's diverse let estate and provides technical advice and support on land management matters to the general managers.

The successful candidate will have conservation knowledge and combine it with strong technical skills and an entrepreneurial approach to rural surveying.

Managing change in the rural landscape is a central focus within the National Trust and colleagues will look to you for up-to-the-minute advice and guidance.
