There are several planned closures on the M4 in the coming week, Traffic Wales and National Highways has confirmed. A number of planned works are set to go ahead along the motorway in Wales and England following the bank holiday on Monday, May 1.
Motorists are warned the work could mean delays for those travelling early in the morning or late at night. Affected areas in Wales include Cardiff, Pyle and Hendy.

Wales
- The M4 eastbound at junction 37 Pyle entry slip road will be closed due to emergency work from May 4 to May 5. The closures will take place between 8pm and 1am.
- The M4 westbound at junction 48 Hendy exit slip road will be shut due to maintenance work from May 2 to May 5. The closures will happen between 8pm and 6am each day.
The M4 westbound from junction 30 Cardiff Gate to junction 32 Coryton will be closed due to resurfacing work from May 2 to May 4. The road will be closed between 8pm and 6am each day.
England
- The M4 westbound between junction 21 and junction 23 will be closed from May 2 to May 6. The road will be affected between 10pm and 6am each day.
The M4 eastbound between junction 22 and junction 21. will be shut from May 4 to May 6. You can expect disruption everyday between 10pm and 6am.
The M4 westbound between junction 7 and junction 8 will be closed from May 2 to May 5 between 8pm and 6am each day.
The M4 eastbound at junction junction 6 will be shut from 8pm on May 4 to 6am on May 5.
