All the Love Islanders who sensationally quit the ITV series

Another one bites the dust as Liam Llewellyn has reportedly left ITV's Love Island after spending only five days in the villa. The series, which returned on Sunday, June 5, has returned and with an exit this early on, the drama is set to continue for a further seven weeks.

Liam joins a relatively extensive list of people who have left the series of their own free-will. Love Island, which is known to test it's residents, has previously come under scrutiny for this exact reason. From late-in-the-game exits to "I just wanted you to know I loved you, Curtis," the experience has been too much for some and they have rolled their suitcases out of the villa early.

Don't go anywhere, as we delve deeper into all of the Islanders that left the villa of their own accord. Don't forget to comment below on the exit that shocked you the most.

Liberty Poole and Jake Cornish

Liberty and Jake left it to the last minute to exit the series (ITV)

Potentially the most shocking on this list, Liberty and Jake were standout favourites to win Love Island in 2021. Their sweet romance intrigued viewers since the first episode of the series and hence, their exit was a huge surprise. Considering the fact that Jake asked Liberty to be his girlfriend in earlier episodes, 'Jiberty' were considered untouchable. That is, until it all kicked off.

A day before the final, after the couple went on their final date together, the pair concluded that they should "just be friends". In shocking scenes, Liberty and Jake didn't feel that it was right for them to stay in the villa any longer and quit, making way for a series win for Liam and Millie.

In an awkward exit interview, the pair didn't even talk to each other. Ouch!

Niall Aslam

Cast your mind back to 2018 and some of you may remember Niall Aslam. Much like this year's Liam, poor Niall didn't last very long in the Love Island villa. His exit happened off-screen and the news was broken by Dr Alex.

Taking to Instagram after the series ended - Niall said: "For far too long I have suffered in silence and not acknowledged a massive fact about my life which going into the villa has led me to finally realise and accept.

He added: "I would just like to thank the team at ITV for always backing me and giving me the opportunity to rid my myself of my insecurities and embrace the fact that I am different yet I am still a rainbow fish. I can't explain how grateful I am for the support from the whole team over this period."

Niall was referring to the fact that he had insecurities associated with Aspergers Syndrome.

Sophie Gradon

Series two contestant, Sophie Gradon, was notable for having the first same-sex pairing on the show. "Openly-bisexual" Sophie coupled up with glamour model Katie Salmon after previously being coupled up with barman Tom Powell.

However, Sophie realised her heart was with Tom and left the villa, as she said: "Guys, I'm going to go. I've been feeling like this for a while. Now, I think my time is done."

Tragically, Sophie sadly died in June 2018 with her boyfriend Aaron Armstrong passing away just 20 days later.

Amy Hart

“I was coming back here to tell you that I loved you.” Those words are still painful to this day. Unlucky in love Amy had a painful end to her time in the villa. Having realised that she didn't want to watch former-partner, Curtis Pritchard, couple up with anyone else, Amy chose to pack her bags and leave the villa.

In emotional scenes, Amy told Curtis: “All I’ve ever wanted is for you to be happy and you’re not going to be able to be happy if I’m still here.” Luckily for Amy, a couple of years after Love Island, she would eventually move on from Curtis.

Samira Mighty

English Television personality and West-End star, Samira, had an interesting time in the Love Island villa. She was in friendship couples with Dr Alex George and Sam Bird, until rugby player Frankie Lewis walked in and she immediately fell in love.

When Frankie was dumped from the villa, poor Samira was heartbroken. Following her heart, Samira left the villa of her own accord to be with Frankie, but the pair split shortly after as cheating rumours about Frankie surfaced. In 2019, Samira would go on to feature on the X Factor's last series - X Factor: Celebrity.

Georgia Steele and Sam Bird

Georgia and Sam left the villa together (ITV)

Stars of 2018's series of Love Island, Georgia and Sam were ranked the show's most unpopular couple. Ouch! This, in turn, led to host Caroline Flack offering the pair an ultimatum - "Split up and continue the journey separately or leave the villa."

With eyes only for each other, the pair packed their bags and left the villa. The couple split later that year.

Love Island continues on ITV2 at 9pm
