All the Glasgow cats up for adoption this month to find their forever homes

This week is Pet Appreciation Week and with that in mind, we thought we would turn our mind to the cats in Glasgow looking for their forever homes.

There are lots of feline friends up for adoption, each one deserving of a new home.

But it can of course be tricky to pick the perfect pet as each cat had its own needs.

Whether it's to avoid being around children or being the only pet in the house, it's always worth making sure cats find the perfect fit.

Here's our rundown of the cats needing their forever home, from Cats Protection.

Mickey

Age: Three years old

Breed: Domestic Short Haired

Mickey (Cat's Protection.)

If you're after an affection cat, this lovely boy could be your new best pal.

Mickey loves playing with toys as well as being chilled by sitting on laps, being groomed and sleeping up on the bed at night and is therefore after a quiet hoe with no young children or other pets.

Once settled he will venture outside so needs an entrance leading directly outside rather than a communal close door.

Overall this little boy is very friendly and in need of a loving home as well as a "sanctuary room" that won't be used by humans during the day or overnight

Josh and Apostle

Age: 16 years old

Breed: Domestic Medium Haired (DMH)

Josh and Apostle (Cat's Protection.)

These brothers are in need of their forever home and love getting attention.

Whilst they can be a tad shy at first, they'll soon warm up to you and they'll both sit on your lap happily.

Sadly Josh has a grade two murmur and Apostle has a grade one murmur but thankfully this is causing them no issues at the moment.

Just like Mickey these two lovely boys will need their own "sanctuary room" that won't be used by humans during the day or overnight until settled.

They are looking for a quiet home with no children and no other pets as they love to have all the attention to themselves.

Lucky

Age: Two years old

Breed: Domestic Short Haired

Lucky (Cat's Protection.)

Lucky is said to be all the way from Iran as their previous owner was visiting back home, found Lucky and fell in love which is how the furry friend ended up back in Scotland.

Sadly Lucky doesn't get on well with other cats so had to find a new owner and hopes their next human can look after the lively and energetic cat.

Lucky needs a home with no children or other pets and ideally needs an experienced owner.

Whilst they may not be a lap cat, they love games such as the puzzle feeders for food - something that would make them feel right at home.

Rosie

Age: Eight years old

Breed: Domestic Short Haired

Rosie (Cat's Protection.)

Rosie was brought in as she was feeling "unsettled in the home and was lashing out" at home and after an investigation she was noted to be suffering from pyometra - an infection of the uterus - which may have been the cause of her behaviour as it made her quite unwell.

Having now been neutered, the lovely girl is feeling herself again and loves nothing more than to play with toys and sit on their human's lap.

Rosie is looking for a quiet adult only home with no young children and no other pets - an experienced owner is also proffered.

Just like the others Rosie is after a "sanctuary room" that won't be used by humans during the time it takes her to settle.

She also had a grade three heart murmur and mild hypertrophic cardiomyopathy but thankfully this is not causing her issues at the moment.

Rosie has always been an indoor cat and remains happy to keep doing so.

Qin Qin

Age: Nine years old

Breed: Domestic Medium Haired

Qin Qin (v)

This gorgeous girl is called Qin Qin which is pronounced as 'Chin Chin'.

After come into the centre having been stressed living with other cats in the house, it would be an ideal place if you brought Qin Qin home to no other pets or children.

They too will need their own "sanctuary room" until they are settled.

This little soul also has a grade one heart murmur as well as a history of cystitis with vets recommending they are kept on a wet diet only.

According to the Cat Protection website, their owner described them a "generally confident cat who liked being groomed and would sit on laps frequently" and loves to play.

As they don't like other cats, they find at the centre quite over whelming and spend a lot of my time hiding away so if you could give them a forever home, they would love it.
