Lothian Buses has warned of "major disruption" in Edinburgh as roads in the centre of the city close following the death of the Queen.
The bus company took to social media to urge the public to "please plan ahead where possible", and shared a link to its website where it post the "latest information".
After the Queen died at the Balmoral Estate on Thursday, her body will be relocated to Edinburgh in the coming days as per Operation Unicorn, after which it will be moved to London.

The announcement from Lothian Buses follows the warning from The City of Edinburgh Council of "significant disruption in the city centre (particularly in the Old Town), including road closures, school closures, public transport diversions and bin collections".

City Centre - Royal Mile and Chambers Street
Due to a number of road closures buses are unable to serve the Royal Mile until further notice. As a result these services will not serve Canongate or High Street in both directions or Lauriston Place/Chambers Street/South Bridge northbound.

Due to a number of road closures buses are unable to serve George IV Bridge until further notice. As a result these services will not serve George IV Bridge and The Mound in both directions.

Due to a number of road closures buses are unable to serve George IV Bridge until further notice. As a result these services will not serve Lauriston Place/Chambers Street, George IV Bridge and The Mound on northbound journeys.
