All the DWP cost of living payments to hit bank accounts next month

Millions of UK households are set to receive more financial support from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) next month.

People on certain benefits or tax credits will receive extra cash from the government to help with the cost of living crisis. If you’re eligible, you'll be paid automatically in the same way you usually get your benefit or tax credits.

A £650 boost, delivered by the DWP, was split into two payments. The first was £326, and was distributed from September 20.

Eligible recipients can expect the £324 payment to land in their accounts from November 8, meaning many people will get additional support to help them through the cost of living crisis throughout the winter months as they begin to feel the effects of the most recent energy bill surge.

If you are in receipt of tax credits, you can expect the cash a little later. The DWP previously stated tax credit claimants should receive their £324 between November 23 and November 30.

There are other payments people can expect in November, too.

Pensioner cost of living payment - £300

Those who receive the winter fuel payment will also be able to apply for the "Pensioner Cost of Living Payment" which will be paid out in November and is worth £300.

You must apply for both the Winter Fuel Payment and the Pensioner Cost of Living payment, and the requirements are; being born on or before 25 September 1956, and living in the UK for at least one day between the days of 19 to 25 September as this classed as the 'qualifying week'.

Energy rebate - £66

Every household in the UK will receive a total £400 discount on their energy bill between October 2022 and March 2023. In October and November, £66 will be taken off energy bills while in December, January, February, and March, £67 will be taken off.

Warm Home Discount Scheme

The Warm Home Discount scheme for 2022/23 will open in November. Eligible households could get £150 off their electricity bills.

This year, the government says an additional 750,000 households will receive the rebate after it made changes to the eligibility criteria. To get the discount, you need to be eligible for one of the qualifying means-tested benefits, such as Universal Credit, Income Support or Housing Benefit.

The rebate will be applied automatically to energy bills by energy suppliers. All suppliers with more than 50,000 domestic customers have to take part in the scheme, but it is optional for smaller suppliers.

Further details of the scheme for 2022/23 have not yet been published by the government, but are expected to appear here soon.
