Easter is just around the corner and while this means chocolate eggs for the children, adults will be treated to a seasonal bank holiday.
The public holiday is the perfect time to relax or have fun with friends and family. The next one for Scots falls next week on April 7 and there are plenty more scheduled throughout the year.
Good Friday, which commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ the Friday before Easter Sunday, is next on the cards. While this is observed across the UK, bank holidays can differ depending on location.
For instance, Easter Monday is officially observed in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, but it is technically not a bank holiday in Scotland. If one falls on a weekend, a substitute bank holiday will take place on a weekday.
People should also be prepared to put an extra day off in the calendar happening this year to mark the King Charles' royal coronation. If you're eager to know how many bank holidays are left in the year, read below for the full list.
