DOZENS of bakeries across Scotland have been named among the best in the UK by The Good Food Guide.
To select the locations, the publication's experts have travelled the length and breadth of the country to select the places with the most "sensational" baked goodies.
A number of places were named, including spots in Perthshire, East Lothian and Glasgow.

Aran Bakery
Dunkeld, Perthshire & Kinross
This business was described as a "stylish" bakery that enjoys a "prime position" in the heart of Dunkeld.
The spot has also contributed to the town's "burgeoning reputation as a foodie pit stop".
Beefcake Cafe
Glasgow, Strathclyde
This bakery, which was the only one in Glasgow to be named, is said to offer an "eclectic" mix of delights.
The range is announced weekly by the owners, meaning you can expect something new every time you visit this Anniesland spot.
Bostock Bakery
North Berwick, East Lothian
Before opening this cafe in 2018, Lindsay and Ross Baxter were sure North Berwick would embrace their fine-dining style of baking, an assumption that has proven correct.
Cereal Bakery
Lairg, Highlands & Islands
This "rustically renovated" spot, which is located on the site of a historic trading post, has become a vibrant community hub in recent years, serving all manner of delicious baked items.
Company Bakery
Musselburgh, East Lothian
According to The Good Food Guide, there are few bakeries that have the culinary pedigree on offer here.
Founded in 2017 by chef Ben Reade, Lovecrumbs' Hollie Love Reid and Duncan and Amy Findlater of local wine bar Smith & Gertrude, the business has grown from simply baking sourdough bread to all kinds of fresh goodies.
Hobz Bakery
Edinburgh, Lothian
This spot was born out of founder Matthew Mallia's "passion for creating exceptional wholegrain bread".
While the bakery may have its origins in loaves, it has grown to produce cakes and pastries, including "deliciously sticky" cinnamon buns.
Lannan Bakery
Edinburgh, Lothian
This Stockbridge bakery has become so popular that one can regularly expect queues right out the door from those wanting to get their fill.
Mhor Bread & Store
Callander, Stirling
This Callander-based store, which has a tea room, has been "luring" in crowds with "enticing" oven smells and tasty baked goods since being purchased by the prominent Lewis family in 2007.
