Pokémon Scarlet & Violet are filled with ominous stakes, and sealed vaults. If you’re asking “what are the stakes all about?” then it’s possible that you just haven’t progressed through the game enough quite yet – but they’re part of a new puzzle, one that will result in you gaining access to the Treasures of Ruin, a brand new quartet of Legendary Pokémon.
If you want to catch ‘em all, as is the goal, then you’ll need to find all of the colored stakes that you’ll find around the game. There are eight stakes of each color, and a vault relating to each of the four colors. If you want to find all the stakes, unlock all the vaults, and catch all of those Legendary Pokémon, you’ll need to follow these instructions in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.
All Purple Stake locations – Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
You’ll need to find all of these Purple Stakes in order to catch Wo-Chien. You’ll find these in the mesa biome, East of Mesagoza.
- Directly East of Mesagoza, on top of rocks just off the main path.
- On a grassy outcrop North of the mesa biome.
- On a cliff overlooking Artazon, Southwest of the town.
- Cliff next to the floodgate Southeast of Mesagoza.
- Atop a spiral grassy hill, Southeast of Mesagoza.
- On a cliff behind trees, Northeast of Los Platos.
- By a lake on top of a hill, South of Los Platos.
- On a cliff by the coast, Southeast corner of the map, above the Purple Vault.
Finally, we have the Purple Vault location, which is at the bottom of the cliff on the Southeast coast.
All Yellow Stake locations – Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
For the next Pokémon, Chien-Pao, you’ll need to hunt down the Yellow Stakes which you can find in the biome surrounding Cascarrafa and Cortondo.
- Behind the Cascarrafa Pokémon gym.
- Overlooking South of the Dark-type Team Star Base, on a cliff.
- Northwest of the Pokémon League, at the bottom of a cliff.
- On a rocky plinth in the middle of a sinkhole, South of the river.
- On a mountainside ledge, Northwest of Cortondo.
- In a cave, entrance found on either the Western coast beach, or Southwest corner of Cortondo.
- Grassy slope overlooking Cortondo, Southwest.
- Halfway down a cliff near the South coast, next to a waterfall.
That’s all of the Yellow Stakes done, now you just need to find the Yellow Vault on the West coast cliffside, West of the Bombirdier Titan.
All Green Stake locations – Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
All of the Green Stakes can be found around Socarrat Trail and Casseroya Lake, near Medali, where you must solve the secret menu item challenge. Here’s how to catch Ting-Lu.
- On the Southeast side of a small island, South of Casseroya Lake.
- East side of a large island, center of Casseroya Lake.
- Southwest border of Casseroya Lake, on a cliff.
- Northwest coast, North side of the river.
- On a snowy cliffside, North coast, East of Socarrat Trail.
- On a grassy patch, far South of Casseroya Lake, South of the river.
- On a rocky plinth inside a large cave, South of Casseroya Lake.
- On a grassy cliffside, Northeast of Medali, by the river.
Finally, you can find the Green Vault on the South side of Socarrat Trail’s rocky hill.
All Blue Stake locations – Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
Last but certainly not least, we’re onto all of the Blue Stakes. You’ll find all of these in the Northeast region of Paldea, around Levincia, the bamboo forest, and Glaseado Mountain. Find them all to catch our final legendary Pokémon, Chi-Yu.
- Northeast coast, near a raised tree and rock.
- On a cliff overlooking the forest with painted trees, North side.
- Northeast coast, on top of a rock pillar in a grassy area.
- Northeast corner of the bamboo forest, on a grassy cliffside.
- Top of the waterfall to the South of the bamboo forest.
- In the ruins, at the bottom of the giant cliffs that border Paldea’s Northeast.
- South of Glaseado Mountain, on a grassy cliffside.
- On the East coast, South of the badlands, Northeast of Levincia.
Once that’s complete you can open the Blue Vault, which you can find at the top of a waterfall on the South side of the bamboo forest.
