'All sentencing options' open warning for Lanarkshire man caught with £2000 worth of cocaine

A Hamilton man caught with cocaine worth £2000 has been warned that "all sentencing options" are open.

Police found the Class A drug after going to Calvin Conner's home with a search warrant.

Conner, 22, of King Street, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court and admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine on June 25 last year.

His not guilty plea to a charge of being concerned in the supply of cannabis was accepted.

Scott O'Connor, prosecuting, said Conner's parents answered the door to police officers around 6.20pm.

A bag of white powder weighing 86g was found in a cabinet in Conner's bedroom. Officers also recovered a set of scales.

Mr O'Connor said: "The accused was taken to Motherwell police station where he provided a 'no comment' interview."

Defence agent Laura Kiernan said her client has no previous convictions and is in full time employment as a ground worker.

She stated: "He is now in a stable place in his life, but that wasn't the case last year when this offence was committed."

Sheriff John Speir deferred sentence until next month for a criminal justice social work report and an electronic tagging assessment.

The sheriff continued Conner's bail but warned him: "Given you were involved in the supply of a Class A drug, all options are open."
