Gigi Hadid reacts after ‘arrest and $1,000 fine for drug possession’ in Cayman Islands - with ‘all’s well that ends well’ post

Gigi Hadid has reportedly been arrested for possession of marijuana and “drug paraphernalia” at an airport in the Cayman Islands.

The supermodel, 28, travelled with her friend Leah McCarthy via private jet from the US last week.

She was stopped going through customs with her luggage when a small amount of weed and smoking utensils were reportedly found.

The marijuana was determined to be for “personal use only”, but the MailOnline reports that Hadid and McCarthy were arrested on charges of “suspicion of Importation of Ganja and Importation of Utensils used for the consumption of ganja”.

The pair were processed at the Royal Cayman Islands Detention Center and later released on bail, pending prosecution, according to local outlet Cayman Marl Road.

Hadid and McCarthy reportedly appeared in Summary Court on July 12 and pleaded guilty. They were both fined $1,000 and avoided conviction on their records.

A representative for Hadid said: “Gigi was travelling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC with a medical licence. It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island.”

On Tuesday Hadid posted a clip on Instagram of her and a friend on a beach in the Cayman Islands, with the caption: “All’s well that ends well”.
