George Kittle is one of the most dynamic and popular players in the NFL. The 49ers All-Pro tight end has established himself as a top ambassador for the tight end position group too, heavily promoting the “Tight End U.” every offseason.
Kittle knows greatness at tight end. He sees that kind of potential for greatness in Lions rookie, and fellow Iowa product, Sam LaPorta. Kittle professed his admiration of Detroit’s second-round pick on a recent appearance with the Pardon My Take podcast.
“LaPorta is going to be fantastic,” Kittle told the podcast. “I think Laporta’s the best tight end in the draft class. I think the Lions got a complete steal. I like the other tight ends too, but I spent two weeks training with Sam LaPorta, and the way he moves, oh yeah, he’s got the dog in him.”
Kittle also added about LaPorta,
“He’s kind of quirky, he’s kind of goofy, too. He’s going to fit in well.”
Kittle gave a nice elaboration on what about LaPorta’s movement skills makes him think the Lions rookie is destined for greatness.
Kittle’s segment on the podcast begins around 39 minutes into the show.
