With Netflix officially rolling out its crackdown on password sharing across the UK - many freeloaders may be unsurprised to receive a notification on their TV, Fire Stick, games console or set top box as of recent asking to confirm whether the system used is part of a 'Netflix Household'.
Others have recently complained meanwhile, that they have received automatic notifications reading: "This TV isn't part of your Netflix household. Create an account to enjoy your own Netflix today."
While CEO Reed Hastings said that sharing an account was 'a positive thing' for the brand back in 2016, so much has changed over the past seven years - leading the world's most favoured streaming service to cull password sharing altogether. Users who want to allow extra locations on their accounts must now pay an extra £4.99 each month - and that's per person too, so things can quickly tot up.

The Mirror reports in the latest crackdown, subscribers can only sign in from a single home address, leaving those piggybacking either forced to pay the surcharge or sign up with their own account. And with the rise in subscription price overall for Netflix - standard without adverts now setting users back £10.99 monthly - it comes as no surprise that users are jumping ship and switching to competitors.
To help tempt people make the move, a number of streaming services are currently offering free trials - with the likes of Amazon's successful Prime Video offering new users 30 days for free. And when the trial comes to a close, should you choose to stick with Jeff Bezos' take on a streaming service, you can use the service across four households with the same single subscription.
Furthermore, you can watch in up to 4K Ultra HD quality too - something Netflix charges a whopping £15.99 per month for at the time of writing. Prime Video has numerous Hollywood blockbusters, binge-worthy boxsets and exclusive shows which you won't find anywhere else on the market - like Jeremy Clarkson's The Grand Tour, superhero saga The Boys, and Emmy award-winning Marvellous Mrs. Maisel.
Prime Video sets users back just £5.99, but it's also included in the £8.99 Amazon Prime bundle - which offers music streaming, same-day delivery on Amazon's marketplace, cloud back up for photos and videos, and a premium Deliveroo upgrade. Users can choose a free one month trial to the service before making their mind up - and should your friends and family wish to freeload, you won't be charged extra for it.
Prime's 'Household Sharing' feature allows users to add other people to their account to give them Prime benefits, inclusive of free rush delivery and video. It works as long as users live in the same country or region.
Elsewhere, Apple TV+, Discovery+ and Paramount+ offer a seven day free trial for new users, while Sky Stream offer users a whole month alike Amazon.
