Nottingham City Council have announced the roads which will be closed while the Sikh Vaisakhi Procession takes its route around the city. The procession is taking place between 10am and 3:30pm on Sunday 22 May.
The route will start on Church Street in Lenton and end on Percy Street in Old Basford. All side roads will also be closed for a short duration as the procession passes through the main route.
On Vaisakhi, Sikhs go to the Gurdwara in the morning for a service and afterwards, they have a procession through the streets which is called the Nagar Kirtan. It has taken place in Nottingham for over 30 years.

- Radford Road
- Church Street (Basford)
- Basford Road
- Alpine Street
- Percy Street (Finish)
The route travels between the Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Gurdwara, 36 Church Street to Gurdwara Ramgarhia Sabha, 31 Percy Street. In the event you can experience Langar (free vegetarian food for all), Gatka (Sikh martial art sword fighting displays), meditation and music.
