The GAA is looking at its first All-Ireland football quarter-final sellout since 2009 this Sunday.
Ticket sales indicate that the Derry-Cork and Dublin-Mayo double header is heading for a full house, the first time that Croke Park’s capacity will have been reached at this stage of the Championship since Kerry’s runaway victory over Dublin on the August bank holiday Monday 14 years ago.
But with this being the most open Championship in years and last Monday morning’s draw providing arguably the most four desirable pairings, interest in quarter-final weekend has soared.

It was anticipated that tomorrow’s quarter-finals, Kerry-Tyrone and Monaghan-Armagh, would draw in excess of 70,000 to Croke Park though it is now likelier to come in at around 65,000, still higher than is the norm for games at this stage of the season.
The combined attendance for last year’s All-Ireland quarter-finals was 121,000, a figure that is set to be surpassed by about 25,000 this weekend.
