Both of the candidates running in the April 23, 2024, Republican primary election for Pennsylvania House of Representatives District 102 — Incumbent Russell Diamond (R) and Rachel Moyer (R) — completed Ballotpedia’s Candidate Connection survey. These survey responses allow voters to hear directly from candidates about what motivates them to run for office.
Here are the candidates’ responses to the question: What do you perceive to be your state’s greatest challenges over the next decade?
Diamond:
“Dealing with the lingering social issues rooted in Covid lockdowns and with an aging population. Reducing red tape and regulatory strangulation for new business ventures. Retaining young educated Pennsylvanians and creating an economic landscape that will entice them to remain in the Commonwealth to work and raise their families.”
Moyer:
“The state budget and education. We need to have a conservative budget that lives within our means. We also need to find the funding formula for education and allow for school choice.”
