All-Aberdeen deal sees Prism Energy acquire Mandos Software

Prism Energy has acquired Mandos Software for an undisclosed sum.

Mandos was established in 1999 to develop software to help organisations to run more efficiently and comply with legislation and standards, by defining and communicating key business processes. Its Author software is used in a range of organisations, both in the UK and overseas.

Prism is a project risk management consultancy company that has developed Prism Apps, a cloud-based project management system for risk, action and change management, which is primarily used in the oil, gas and renewable industries.

Andy Sutherland, managing director of Prism Energy, stated: “Quality management is a key component of successful project delivery and I immediately recognised that the Author software, produced by Mandos Software, was the perfect fit as we looked to introduce quality management systems and services into our business.

“As a software-based consultancy, we always look at how we can best utilise and develop technology to digitise key elements of common process to enable companies to deliver projects more efficiently but above all, safely.

“We manage a wide range of onshore and offshore projects, including pipeline scopes, subsea, topsides and decommissioning projects and are proud that our systems have now been adopted by thousands of people in the oil and gas industry who are seeing the benefits.”

The 20-strong Prism Energy team is headquartered at Rubislaw Terrace in Aberdeen, while Mandos is based just across town on Seafield Road.

Mandos’ founder and managing director Peter Fraser will now move into retirement, following a career in software development and quality management. He will retain an interest in management systems through his consultancy Process Principles.

Fraser explained: “We are delighted that we have found an organisation with the same mindset and approach as ours to develop our Author process management software further for the cloud environment.

“With users as far afield as California and China, Mandos developed a reputation over the years for supporting organisations that want to understand and improve how they work using a best practice approach to process definition, management and communication.

“I wish Andy and the Prism team the best for the future and know that the software is in safe hands.”
