All 32 NFL guard tandems (including Quinn Meinerz and Ben Powers) ranked by PFF grades

The Denver Broncos agreed to terms on a four-year, $80 million contract extension with guard Quinn Meinerz earlier this week. In terms of average salary ($20 million per year), Meinerz is now tied as the third-highest-paid guard in the NFL.

Before giving Meinerz a big extension this spring, the Broncos signed Ben Powers from the Baltimore Ravens last year. Denver gave Powers a four-year, $52 million contract in 2023. So between their two guards, the Broncos have committed $132 million.

That big financial commitment signifies the importance that coach Sean Payton has placed on the offensive line. Addressing the unit was one of Payton’s top priorities when he arrived last year.

Andrew Harbaugh of Vikings Wire recently compiled Pro Football Focus combined guard grades for all 32 teams ahead of the 2024 season. See where Meinerz, Powers and their guard teammates stack up below. (Note that, individually, Meinerz ranked third among guards with an 83.7 grade last season.)
