All 26 Platinum Jubilee beacons being lit in Nottinghamshire

The lighting of beacons across the UK to celebrate Royal events has been a long tradition. Most recently, some may remember the event for The Queen's 90th birthday in 2016 or perhaps her Diamond Jubilee.

With The Queen's Platinum Jubilee coming up this June, beacons are once again being readied. Across the country, some 1,500 beacons will be lit, and Nottinghamshire has its fair share of sites.

Also, and for the first time, beacons will be lit in each of the capital cities of the Commonwealth countries. The event will take place on Thursday, June 2, 2022.

Some venues have activities going on as well. For instance, at Green's Windmill in Sneinton, Clifton Flower Park, Woodthorpe Park and Bulwell Bogs, there will be live music.
