Fans have rushed to support TikTok star Alix Earle after revealing that she, along with 10 of her friends, were left stranded in Italy following an alleged scam. The social media sensation, who boasts of three million followers on Instagram and 5.3 million on TikTok, and her pals ended up without a place to stay in Positano as the villa they booked "didn't exist".
In a video uploaded on Monday (May 22), the 22-year-old said: "We're stranded in Italy. The house we were supposed to stay at doesn't exist."
She added: "Our car service cancelled. It's midnight. We literally don't know where to go. The girls trip took a turn." It wasn't long before the clip racked up as many as 3.5 million views on TikTok, as thousands of people flocked to the comment section.
One concerned follower replied: "THE HOUSE DOESNT EXIST?!?!" Bailee wrote: "Omg nooo Alix." A third added: "You got this. You always come out on top lol." Nickye put: "Y’all are strong. I know y’all got it figured out."
Alix kept fans updated as she took to her TikTok account a few hours later to share that they had all found somewhere else to sleep. She wrote: "We found a place to stay the night after our 'scenic villa in Italy' didn't exist."
However, she revealed that their accommodation would only be for one night as they would be left "stranded again" in the morning, she told fans in the comment section.
But despite the unfortunate holiday disaster, Alix and her friends seem to be making light of the situation. Leanna commented: "Girl you’ll make the best of it. You always do." To which Alix replied: "We’re having fun."
Earlier this month, Alix graduated from the University of Miami in Florida with a degree in marketing. "The day has finally come … 4 years ago I cried when I found out I was accepted to my dream school," she wrote on Instagram on her graduation day.
"Little did I know these years would be the best years of my life. I've gained lifelong friends, made memories I'll never forget, and learned life lessons inside and out of the classroom. I can confidently say that The University of Miami has shaped me into the person I am today and I'm forever grateful I got the opportunity to attend such an amazing school."
