Full-back Alistair Johnston has sealed a dream move to Celtic from CF Montreal - and he's been celebrating the deal on the way back from the World Cup.
The Canadian international eased the blow of exiting Qatar 2022 by putting pen to paper on on a five-year deal worth in the region of £3million for the Major League Soccer outfit, and he has immediately taken to social media to express his joy at joining the Scottish Premiership champions. While on the way back from the Middle East, Johnston has stopped in Milan as he returns home after playing in Canada's three Group F campaign.
He took to his Instagram page during the stop over to show a clip of himself raising a pint of Guinness while watching Argentina and Australia face off in the World Cup. The snap featured a four-leaf clover and a smiling emoji face in reference to his move to Glasgow's east end.
The camera then pans to the wall where a Celtic top and scarf are emblazoned on the wall. It then cuts back to the game, where Johnston would have been keeping an eye on teammate Aaron Mooy and how he fared against Lionel Messi and co.
It's not the first time Johnston has shown his early love for his new club. After the deal was rubber stamped, he took to Twitter stating: “Beyond buzzing to have signed for Celtic FC. Thank you for all the kind messages and can’t wait to get to paradise"
