Alistair Johnston says being linked with Celtic is a special moment for him - but his full focus for the time being is on Canada.
The right-back is a player heavily linked with becoming Hoops manager Ange Postecoglou's second winter signing already, having already had Yuki Kobayashi pen a long-term deal. It's been claimed that the Canadian international currently at the World Cup in Qatar is soon to be on his way to Glasgow, with a verbal agreement in place with current club Montreal.
It was less than a year ago that Johnston made the move across the MLS to L'Impact from Nashville and now getting his name mentioned with the Premiership champions is a blessing, as he knows all about the passionate fanfare that comes with them. But with important matches to come in the middle-east, all talk of transfers needs to be shelved until the right moment presents itself.

He explained: "To be linked with a club like Celtic is something I think every footballer is excited by. It’s one of the most passionate fanbases in the world.
“It’s a club that even people who don’t follow football know who it is. “I’m super-excited to be linked to them. But as I say the focus is solely on the national team.
“We’ve done a really good job of blocking out the noise. We’re pretty focused on the task at hand and personal things, club things, will get sorted out once January hits.
“My phone has been blowing up. It nearly put my iPhone out of commission — halfway through a World Cup! But right now the focus is on the national team.”
