Alistair Johnston in Celtic shoutout to underrated star as he marvels at Jota skills and ‘beautiful hair’

New Celtic right-back Alistair Johnston has named Jota and Reo Hatate as the Hoops' two most technical players - and he made sure to talk up his Portuguese teammate's stylish hair.

Johnston signed for Celtic early in the January transfer window after an impressive World Cup for Canada in Qatar. A strong spell in 2022 for Montreal saw Johnston attract suitors, and Ange Postecoglou didn't hesitate to land his man early with Josip Juranovic's departure moving closer at the time.

Johnston has impressed heavily at Celtic Park since his arrival, fitting seamlessly into the vacant hole that Juranovic left after joining Union Berlin; evidently impressing Postecoglou ahead of academy product Anthony Ralston. And after getting to know his teammates better, the Vancouver-born star featured in a TikTok for the Hoops where he had to choose the most technical player at the club - naming Jota and Hatate as the two at the top of the tree.

"The most skilful player on our team? I think there's one that definitely stands out, with that beautiful hair of his. It's hard to go against the Portuguese sensation Jota, just so technical and so clean with everything he does.

"But a little shoutout to Reo [Hatate]. I think he kind of goes a little under the radar with how technical he is. Again, his first touch is just so clean with everything he does.

"[For hardest worker] It's hard to go against the skipper, I have to say. Cal works his socks off. The ultimate leader, comes in every day and trains like a madman. He's the hardest worker for sure."
