Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson abandoned his celebrations to console Tottenham striker Son Heung-min after Brazil dumped South Korea out of the World Cup on Monday night.
South Korea booked a showdown with the five-time world champions after sealing qualification from Group H in dramatic circumstances at the expense of Ghana and Uruguay. However, Son and his teammates were swept aside in bruising fashion by Tite's side.
Brazil romped to a comprehensive 4-1 win after chalking up four strikes before the half-time interval. Goals from Vinicius Junior, Neymar, Richarlison and Lucas Paqueta were enough to seal a quarter-final spot. Paik Seung-ho did net a consolation for South Korea, but there was to be no second-half fightback from Paulo Bento's side, who exited the competition.
While the majority of Brazil's squad celebrated their progression after the match, Alisson was captured seeking out Son on the pitch. Although the pair are rivals in the Premier League, the Liverpool shot-stopper took a moment to search out and console the crestfallen Spurs forward.
Alisson's kind-hearted gesture capped a remarkable performance; the Reds ace kept South Korea at bay with three world-class saves during a frenetic first half. He was later replaced by third-choice goalkeeper Weverton as Tite bids to ensure every member of his 26-man squad gets a taste of the action during the tournament in Qatar.
Despite Alisson's remarkable saves, the 30-year-old was still blasted by former Manchester United icon Peter Schmeichel, who insisted that Manchester City's Ederson should play ahead of Alisson - as the Reds ace 'worries him'.

While working as a pundit for beIN Sport on Monday night, Schmeichel said: “I like the way Ederson plays. I like his style. I like how good he is with his feet and people question him. I like Ederson. I like the way he plays.
"When people say 'Yeah, he's good with his feet'. He's very, very good as a goalkeeper as well. He makes big saves. Crucial saves. He fits into that Manchester City team so well. Therefore, I can't say I prefer one to the other because I don't know how he [Ederson] would fit into the Brazil team.
"I think the goalkeeper that you pick for your team has to fit into the way you play. If you can point anything towards Alisson. Everything (he has) is the traditional goalkeeping saving. One v One, all of that. Coming for crosses, he's very good.
"But there is always a mistake. It's like he is overestimating the time on the ball he has. There is always something where you are a little bit worried. I never have that with the other one [Ederson]."
