This Morning host Alison Hammond told viewers yesterday (Friday 22 July) that she is planning to take a long break from her spot on the couch over the summer.
The popular presenter, 47, has been a regular Friday presenter on the ITV show with co-host Dermot O’Leary for some time, but is planning to take a long seven weeks off this summer.
Many This Morning presenters take time off over the summer but she is taking a longer than usual break – not planning to return to the couch until September.

Alison - who recently poked fun at Dermot O'Leary after he called her a 'b***h' live on air - shared her plans with viewers in Friday’s show as she said: “Hello there, we are going live at 10am today.
"It's my last day before my holidays – I'm off for seven weeks.
"I'm going to miss you guys but yeah it's our last show, come and join us, it's Friday.”
The popular hosts have been filling in all week for their fellow presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield who had the week off.
Alison and Dermot are set to be replaced over the summer by the likes of former Big Brother star Josie Gibson and presenter Craig Doyle as well as former Saturdays singer Rochelle Humes and Andi Peters.
Alison and Dermot, 49, were confirmed as the new hosts of the Friday morning slot back in 2020.
The pair took over the slot on the popular ITV show from Eamonn Holmes and his wife Ruth Langsford.
Former The X Factor host Dermot and Alison began the roles on Friday 8 January 2021.
Alison said of her new role: “I never dreamt that when I first joined This Morning – initially for a few months – that I would still be there 19 years later.
“I genuinely care about the show and the viewers who watch, so it’s a huge privilege and honour to be hosting a show I adore so much.
“I’m just really excited to be doing even more of what I love alongside the lovely Dermot.”
Dermot also shared his excitement at joining the This Morning team on a permanent basis as he said: “I'm deeply thrilled and honoured to be joining the This Morning team next year.
“We have huge shoes to fill and we are well aware what a privilege it is to be stepping into them. Above all, we want to have fun and for you to be able to kick your weekend off with a smile, especially given the year we've all had.
“So I'm delighted to be co-hosting with the living embodiment of sunshine on a rainy day. I can't wait to get started.”
