Alison Hammond has become a firm favourite among This Morning viewers as she co-hosts the daytime show every Friday with Dermot O'Leary and now with ITV on the hunt for a new Monday to Thursday host following the exit of Phillip Schofield over the weekend bookmakers are convinced that a member of the show’s current line up is set to be promoted - namely Alison.
No sooner than she'd started working on the flagship show back in 2002 Alison became a fan favourite presenter with This Morning viewers. Prior to working on the programme she previously had a short-lived stint on Channel 4’s Big Brother - more on her rise to fame later.
Now it is being reported that Alison, who earlier this year was announced as the new host of The Great British Bake Off, will land the main presenting job after Phillip’s departure. Holly Willoughby, who has recently made headlines over her ‘feud’ with Phillip, is apparently advocating for Alison to join her on the sofa Monday to Thursday.

But how did Alison rise to fame, who has she dated, is her son going into Love Island and what is her net worth? Here’s everything you need to know.
Where have we seen Alison Hammond before?
Alison’s TV career began when she appeared on the third series of Big Brother alongside the likes of Kate Lawler and Jade Goody. Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine last year, Alison explained her reasoning for entering the series. “Everyone kept saying: ‘You should go into Big Brother.’ At the time I was £4,000 in debt. I went into an internet cafe to apply online.”
The then-cinema usherette proved to be TV gold, famously breaking the garden table after attempting to speak to a security guard over the wall and teasing fellow housemate Alex by confessing she’d had a wee in the communal shower. She was, however, evicted after only two weeks and admitted she initially thought she’d just return to normal life.
Little did Alison know that her short stint on the show would leave a lasting impression and only weeks later, ITV’s This Morning offered her a job as a roving reporter. During her time on the show, she has interviewed countless Hollywood A-listers - she even got ‘married’ to Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson on the show at one point. Alison currently co-hosts the Friday edition of This Morning alongside Dermot O’Leary.
As well as This Morning, Alison has also graced our screens with stints on I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, Strictly Come Dancing and the Great Celebrity Bake Off. Earlier this year, Alison presented the 2023 BAFTA Film Awards alongside actor Richard E Grant.
In March of this year it was announced that Alison would replace Matt Lucas as the new host of Channel 4's The Great British Bake Off.
Who has Alison Hammond dated?
Notoriously private about her love life, Alison has admitted that she is currently in a relationship. She has not revealed who the lucky man is, though.
Alison was previously married to Manchester cab driver Noureddine Boufaied, who is also the father of her 17-year-old son Aiden. She discovered that she was pregnant shortly after finding fame on the third series of Big Brother.
She found love again in 2014 when she met single dad Jamie Savage on an online dating website. Despite getting engaged, three years later Alison confirmed that she and Jamie had parted ways.
During her stint on Celebs Go Dating in 2020, Alison grew close to audio technician Ben Kusi. Despite staying in touch after the show, the pair’s relationship fizzled out soon after.
Is Alison Hammond's son going into Love Island?
On Sunday, May 20 it was reported that Alison’s 18-year-old son Aiden had been approached by Love Island producers for this year’s series. The news comes after the success of other celebrity contestants - including Danny Dyer's daughter Dani and Michael Owen's daughter Gemma.
A source close to the mother and son duo told The Daily Mail that while “Alison was flattered, Aiden has turned down the offer.” Would you have like to see this happen? Let us know in the comments.
What is Alison Hammond’s net worth?
Alison is thought to be worth between £1m and £4m. She reportedly earns around £600,000 a year for her work on This Morning. For more TV and showbiz stories, subscribe to our newsletter here.
