Alison Hammond reprimanded for behaviour on ITV This Morning as fans spot blunder by 'world's last Leprechaun whisperer'

Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary's attempts to celebrate St Patrick's Day descended into chaos on the latest episode of This Morning. The duo were back at the helm of the ITV daytime programme as they rounded off another week of shows.

And they were eager to celebrate St Patrick's Day, the cultural and religious celebration also known as the Feast of Saint Patrick held on March, 17, the traditional death date of Saint Patrick, the foremost patron saint of Ireland. Twenty five years after bursting into the charts, B*Witched were in the studio to perform their hit track C'est La Vie while the hosts also had a lesson in the perfect pint of Guinness.

But Alison's trademark laugh couldn't help but make an appearance when she and Dermot were joined live in the studio by Kevin Woods who claims to be the world's last leprechaun whisperer. He joined the pair on the famous sofa, a few years after he and Alison met when travelled to Ireland to meet him for a previous segment on This Morning.

Not only was Kevin in the studio, he was also joined by a leprechaun he had caught, which he had kept hidden in a bag. But Alison began to laugh and giggle from the offset, much to the later disapproval of their guest. "You see them in the image you want to see them in," he explained. "I see them as leprechauns, you may see them as angels or fairies."If you're uncomfortable with seeing leprechauns you'll see the image you want to see them in, so if you want to see a child, a small leprechaun you'll see them in that form."

"Oh, I'll probably see them in cake form," Alison laughed, referring to he earlier news that she is the new co-host of the Great Birtish Bake Off, before Kevin asked if the two would like to see the mythical creature he had caught. "Can you put your arms around the table there in case he jumps out?" he instructed, which had Alison laughing once again.

"Oh, I'm so excited to see this," she said. "I didn't get to see this when I actually came to see you, why was I not allowed to see any?" she asked to which Kevin replied: "Because I hadn't caught any that day," Kevin responded. "Is he not going to suffocate? Can we get him out and get some air to him," Alison queried.

"He's OK, don't you worry," Kevin assured her before the host asked how many leprechauns remained. "I told you before, there's 200 left," Kevin stated, clearly becoming annoyed by the host's behaviour. "Are we going to get to see this leprechaun or what?" Alison asked to which Kevin hit back: "Well I can't answer questions and take the leprechaun at the same time."

As Kevin lifted the bag to retrieve the creature, Alison commented: "Let him out! Oh, he's really milking this." She then added: "Oh Kevin, you are funny." But Kevin didn't appear amused as he replied: "I'm not funny, I'm dead serious," before opening the bag to reveal no leprechaun was there.

And This Morning viewers were left flocking to social media when Kevin let slip a swear word on the daytime show, muttering: "Oh, the wee fe**er," which Alison later had to apologise for. @PollyCracker92 tweeted: "Has he just said 'wee fe***r' #ThisMorning," alongside a string of crying laughing emojis.

But not all viewers were amused by Alison and Dermot's reaction to Kevin. @debsuffolk said: "Alison is being very unprofessional. This guy believes in what he’s saying (even if no one else does) #ThisMorning." @ChantalMascoe wrote: "#ThisMorning Dermot and Alison laughing at him not with him poor sod."
