Alison Hammond forced to apologise after 'unbelievable' interruption on This Morning

Fans of This Morning were shocked as Alison Hammond was forced to apologise for an 'unbelievable' interruption.

Deidre Sanders was back on the morning talk show speaking to hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary as they answered viewers' calls. There was one particularly serious call where caller Lilly explained that she had been avoiding everyone since giving birth.

Dear Deidre was dishing out her advice to the new mum when they were interrupted by Alison's personal phone going off. It rang out as Alison was forced to apologise.

The host said: "Oh sorry everyone. I'm so sorry" as she silenced the ringing phone. Deirdre continued to issue her advice to the caller as though the interruption hadn't happened.

But fans on Twitter were quick to notice and shared their thoughts on the social media platform. Among them was Emmerson, who said: "How does Alison not know to have her phone on silent? Like TV presenting 101. #ThisMorning"

Jonathan said: "Classic Alison Hammond - phone rings during a serious phone in #ThisMorning", while Uzoamaka said: "Unbelievable Alison! #ThisMorning"

The caller thanked the team for their help and words of wisdom as Dermot wished her the best of luck before ending the call. That was when Alison apologised once more. She said: "Apologies for my phone going off."

Dermot replied: "Don't worry it happens... But don't let it happen again" before moving on swiftly.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV and the ITV Hub
