Fans wasted no time in sharing their wish with Alison Hammond as she appeared to bag a 'new job' while hosting This Morning. The presenter has been back at the helm of the ITV daytime show alongside Dermot O'Leary this week.
The pair, who usually host the show on a Friday and in the holidays, have stepped in for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield who headed off on their Christmas break last Friday (December 9). But their stint at the helm won't be for long as they're set to be replaced by Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle next week.
Ahead of their latest appearance on the show, Alison took to Instagram to share a selfie of herself and former X Factor host Dermot. "We are with you all week on @thismorning it’s freezing outside so let us warm you up," Alison, who dazzled in a double sequined outfit, typed.
She then added: "See you at 10am @dermotoleary and the rest of the incredible team." And the compliments for the pair soon came coming in with some sharing the same 'wish'.
@lucybramble78 said: "Wish you were there all the time!!!" @suzann.dyer1 echoed: "Wish you were on every morning of every week. You guys make me chuckle." @mukasairene commented: "Wish you guys were permanently presenting This Morning!" @dolly_0180 posted: "Only watch This Morning when Alison and Dermot are presenting, they male my day. Wish they were the permanent presenters."
@hopwoodlinda replied: "Wish you two where on all the time. Your both so good at your work on this morning." @jill_beynon shared: "I’m so pleased you are on all week, I wish you were there everyday you really make my day! Love you both." @x_annie.c_x added: "Alison you look amazing and I would watch This Morning more often if the two of you were on it."
Meanwhile, Alison appears to have bagged her a new job as Dermot put her forward for a role alongside Simon Cowell. The music mogul and talent show judge made a rare appearance on the ITV daytime show alongside former X Factor contestant Lucy Spraggan. However, there was obviously another reunion from the days of the ITV singing competition as Dermot referred to Simon as 'boss' from his hosting days on the hit show.
As they chatted, the idea of The X Factor returning to screens was brought up and joking about replacing Dermot as presenter on it if it was to come back, Alison said she'd make a great stand-in. However, Simon replied: "Dermot is the only person who can do the show." But Dermot had his co-host and friend's back.
"I have to say this as well Simon," Dermot added, "Talking BGT [Britain's Got Talent], if you need an extra judge, I couldn't endorse her more. This one would literally bring the house down in the Palladium." Alison then jumped up excitedly and asked Simon what he thought of the idea.
He then replied: "We've had this conversation before..." And as Alison shouted 'take it to deadlock' Simon laughed and said: "I love Alison, you know that." After their interview upon returning from an ad break, Dermot joked how good a day it was as he managed to beg Alison, 47, a new job.
