Alison Hammond has announced she's getting an 'extended' run as main This Morning host, as Holly Willoughby started her summer break from the show earlier than expected. And the switch up in presenters has sparked demands from fans for bosses to make 'full time' changes.
Having fronted the show for to weeks in a row alongside former Holiday presenter Craig Doyle, Holly was nowhere to be seen on Monday,. as Alison and Dermot took over in the This Morning studio. Viewers had expected to see Holly in charge for at least another week, particularly given that she didn't make any announcement over taking any time off.
In the aftermath of Phillip Schofield's headline-hitting departure from the ITV daytime programme, just who gets to be the show's main presenters has become a hot topic online, as producers try out a number of different combinations of hosts. While Dermot and Alison were at the top of the bookies list once Phillip left ITV altogether, plenty of viewers pushed for a Craig and Josie Gibson double act.

However, having got to see Irish star Craig and Holly work together, the tide turned to many fans calling for them to get the nod going forward, but for this week, at least, it's Alison and Dermot who This Morning bosses are putting their faith in.
Alison confirmed her and Dermot's longer than usual stint at the helm on Instagram as she uploaded a video of her and her co-host dancing in the studio and captioned it: 'Me and my @dermotoleary with you all week bringing the summer vibes on @thismorning - come and join us."
Her growing number of followers were quick to respond to Alison's post, with one commenting: "Such a brilliant team ! More of you two genuinely nice people needed in the week starting in Sept!!! Take note producers… we want Alison and Dermot FULL TIME!!" Echoing those sentiments, a second replied: "Love these guys together should be the main this morning presenters"
