Alison Hammond admits she 'loves the fact' people think she and Dermot O'Leary don't get on.
The popular This Morning presenter, 47, sets the record straight regarding rumours she and her co-host have 'beef' and confesses the two stars often do certain things on purpose to further fuel the speculation.
Alison - who recently wowed fans with her trimmed down physique - explains how she can't tell people enough 'how wrong they actually are' if they honestly believe she and Dermot are locked in a bitter feud.
The former Big Brother contestant and Dermot took over hosting Friday's This Morning from Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford in January last year and have been a big hit with viewers.
Although the pair often gush about each other on social media, speculation the two stars don't get along off-camera is always bubbling - but Alison says there is not a grain of truth to the rumours.
Speaking to GKBarry on the Saving Grace podcast, Alison explains: "I can’t tell you how wrong they actually are. I love the fact that people think that. I’m gonna keep that going.
"Go ‘babes, people think we hate each other, let’s do a couple of things on the telly like stand further apart’. Like we’re still distancing!
"But seriously I love the fact people think we’ve got beef, it’s hilarious."
The star - who won a major honour at the Ethnicity Awards this evening - add: "Honestly I can’t tell you how much I love that man, he’s so funny."
Earlier this year Dermot was one of the first to offer love and support to his co-host, as Alison opened up about her relationship with her body during a candid discussion about obesity on an episode of This Morning in March.
Becoming visibly emotional as she responded to a phone-in advice question from a viewer, the much-loved star explained: "I’ve had obesity all my life and what it is is your regulation system is out of whack.
"So obviously, you can’t control wanting to eat all the time. A lot of people don’t realise that obesity is a disease."
Alison went on to say: "People look down on people just because they’re so big and they can’t actually help it when you’ve got a disease.
"Sorry, it really touches me,” she added. "It’s so hard... people don’t realise."
Following Alison's emotional appearance on the ITV show, the former Big Brother contestant was supported by fans online and her co-host Dermot, who took to Instagram to say how proud he was of his colleague for opening up about her lived experience on-air.
Dermot and Alison don't just have This Morning as a TV show connection.
Before becoming one of the nation's favourite presenters, Alison first appeared on our screens in the third series of Big Brother in 2002 - the year Kate Lawler was crowned the first female winner of the then-Channel 4 show.
At the time, Dermot was presenting the show's spin-off series, Big Brother's Little Mouth, before the former X Factor host left the Big Brother family in 2007.
