Alison and Dermot get the giggles on This Morning after 'long night' at the NTAs

Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary were left unable to speak after erupting in fits of laughter on Friday's This Morning.

The presenters had a "long night" at Thursday's National Television Awards. Alison was nominated for best presenter, and while she didn't win, she said just having a "seat at the table" was an honour.

This Morning won the gong but for the Daytime category, with Holly Willoughby saying "it means everything". Alison also took to the podium and joked she was "robbed" by Ant and Dec.

Dermot told This Morning viewers he "just wanted fried chicken" as this week's final show got underway, before then reeling in disgust when a segment showcasing alcoholic drinks was previewed.

Later, the pair burst into fits of laughter when discussing the cooking part of the show. Dermot mocked Alison for how she pronounces TV chef Michela Chiappi's name.

Dermot joked: "I love Michela Michiappia", before Alison added: "It was a long night". Dermot replied: "But you always call her Michela Michiappia", and the pair burst into fits of giggles.

Fans were loving the interaction. Taking to Twitter, Sarah said: "These two are iconic", while Liam said: "Love these two being on". Fee said: "Alison was robbed".

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and the ITV Hub
