Porn star Alicia Rio has died at the age of 55.
The actress was known in the adult film industry for starring in hundreds of movies in the 1990s.
Alicia is reported to have died on January 17 after suffering complications related to Covid.
A relative of the Mexican born star posted: "We believe it was ultimately a bout with Covid that cut her life shorter than we would have hoped and expected."
It's understood that Alicia was found unresponsive at her home.
Alicia's ex husband Steve Houston told AVN: "They did bring up COVID. I'm really waiting to hear what the coroner's office comes up with.
“We'll just leave it that she passed peacefully and quietly at home."
Houston added that Alicia was 'loved by everyone' in the adult film world after starring in movies including Boderline, Reflections of Rio and Fantasies of Alicia.
She was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame in 2004.
"She was the real deal for the industry," Houston said.
He met Alicia back in 1980 at a skating rink before they married in 1987. The pair separated in 1997.
Despite the split, Houston said they remained close friends until Alicia's death.
