Alice Cooper is snapped taking in a round of golf in Swansea before the rock icon's sell-out arena gig

Alice Cooper has been pictured enjoying a round of golf in Langland Bay Golf Club ahead of his sell-out show in Swansea Arena. The Rock n Roll Hall of Famer took to the stage on May 23 but spent a large part of his day taking in breathtaking views from "the pebble beach of Wales".

Recommended the course by A-list friends and honorary members; Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones, tickets to his sell-out show were also passed around as the artist impressed with his golfing talents.

Alice Cooper joins the latest growing list of worldwide superstars being pictured enjoying everything Swansea has to offer as it promises to be a big year of entertainment for the city.

Sharing the news that rock icon Alice Cooper was in town ahead of his big sell-out night in the Arena, Langland Bay Golf Club shared pictures of the star enjoying the circuit saying "it was a privilege and delight to welcome him to the course". Playing alongside the icon, PGA director of golf, Andrew Minty, described it as "a surreal moment" as Alice Cooper impressed with his golfing talents. "He was recommended the course by his good friend, Michael Douglas, so we showed him around the club and the course and he enjoyed it, it was a good day," said Andrew.

"On the 10th Tee, he rang Michael Douglas on the phone to thank him for recommending the course and it was great to hear," he added.

"He takes his clubs everywhere he goes and likes to play golf everyday, he is a very keen golfer and he is very talented not only on the stage but off it too. He really enjoyed the signature holes of the course and it was a lovely day for it. He's really down to earth and a really nice guy and shared a lot of his stories from his career and showed particular interest in the course. He was fantastic company"

Following his enjoyment on the course, Alice Cooper issued "a number of great seats" to members of the club as a special thankyou for their hospitality.
