Alfredo Morelos urged to leave Rangers for Galatasaray this summer

Rangers star Alfredo Morelos has been urged to join Galatasaray this summer.

The striker's contract is up at Ibrox at the end of this season.

The Colombian has been free to speak to prospective clubs since entering the final six months of his deal in January.

The Ibrox club has attempted to hold talks with Morelos to strike terms on a new deal at points over the course of the last year, but there has been no sign of a breakthrough.

So, as things stand, all roads point to the 26-year-old moving on to pastures new in the summer.

And his fellow countryman Alexis Perez has urged him to join him in Turkish football by joining Galatasaray.

Speaking to Turkish outlet Milliyet, the Giresunspor defender said: "I don't know him personally but I know his football characteristics.

"He is a player with a very high potential and a strong striker.

"He scored many goals in Rangers both in the Europa League and the Scottish League.

"He did important work. I follow his matches for the Colombian national team.

"I think he will contribute a lot to Galatasaray. He will score a lot of goals at Galatasaray.

"The more Colombian players come to Turkey, the more I will be happy."

Morelos has been linked with the club in recent weeks, as well as other points throughout his Rangers career.

It's said that Sevilla are still among the clubs interested in the frontman.
