Alfredo Morelos sports Everton shirt as Rangers striker sparks mystery in Colombia kickabout

Alfredo Morelos pulled on an Everton shirt for a kick-about in his homeland as speculation swirls over his Rangers future.

The Colombian looks increasingly likely to leave Ibrox in the summer having lost his place in the starting lineup to Antonio Colak as his contract ticks down. Michael Beale is on record challenging him to step up and earn a new deal although did play down talk he had signed a pre-contract deal with Sevilla.

He's back in Colombia for the international break and a clip shared by the Alfredo Morelos foundation's social media manager Karina Isa Ruiz showed him wearing an Everton shirt during a friendly kick-about. Fans on social media have been left guessing as to what his connection with the Goodison Park side is although his international teammate Yerry Mina plays for them as does former Rangers right-back Nathan Patterson, so he has every reason to have a soft spot for the Premier League team.

Speaking on Morelos' future last weekend, Beale said: "We spoke after the game on Sunday and there was no truth in the Sevilla rumour. We're committed to each other until the end of the season and there are discussions going on between that.

"Since I've come in Alfredo has trained and played very well, there are certainly no issues between me and him. We're on the same page and we'll just keep working until the summer. I think everything at the moment is open for discussion."
