Alfredo Morelos sent Rangers future poser as striker told he's not 'irreplaceable' amid concerns

Alfredo Morelos has been told that he is just like any other player in that he can be replaced - but why he would want to leave Rangers puzzles Michael Beale.

The Colombian striker is set for talks with manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst after being omitted from Wednesday's Champions League play-off squad versus PSV due to attitude and fitness concerns. Beale worked with Morelos during his time as assistant manager, which ended last November.

With elite European group stage football on the way, the former Ibrox assistant says the forward is highly regarded in Govan but he's got less than 12 months to run on his contract.

He told the Daily Mail: "I don't think any player is irreplaceable. I wouldn't know why no-one has come in with an offer for Morelos but I also know with every day that passes he realises how important Rangers have been for him.

"Is there a better option out there? Because he is loved. He is competing for trophies and every day he understands that more.

"Alfredo can continue to be brilliant for Rangers. People say he needs to bring in a transfer fee but the goals he scores in Europe that's paying money to the club.

"The boy people see in the media is not the boy I saw every day. He has that little devil/maverick inside him but then so do a lot of players."
