Alfredo Morelos Rangers transfer bingo rolls over as ambitious Turkish side 'eye' deal THIS week

Ambitious Konyaspor are said to be targeting a shock move for Rangers star Alfredo Morelos before their transfer window slams shut on Wednesday night.

The 26-year-old striker is out of contract at the end of the season and could be ready to end his six-year stay with the Ibrox club but he's returned to form recently with two doubles in his last five games away to Kilmarnock and Hearts and appears to be relishing linking up again with manager Michael Beale.

However, reports on the Continent have suggested European challengers Konyaspor will try to hurry through a deal with the Colombian hitman before the transfer window ends on Wednesday night. Konyaspor appointed Serbian boss Aleksandar Stanojevic last month and he is desperate to bring in more attacking options to his side, after failing to score in his first three games in charge. They failed in a bid to sign free agent Isco at the weekend, with the former Real Madrid star turning down the move because of family reasons.

Stanojevic pleaded for new players in his squad after he saw his team lose to Istanbulspor in their last game. He said: "I have never experienced such a situation.

"This team needs player reinforcement if we want to go up the table. I have presented three attackers I want to buy and I have been told the transfers will be completed in this window."

Morelos' brace at Tynecastle last week took him up to 121 goals in 210 starts for Rangers in all competitions since his 2017 arrival from HJK Helsinki. But with Rangers short of attacking options with Kemar Roofe injured again and Antonio Colak only just back, it's unlikely they would let him leave with the season run-in to come.
