Alfredo Morelos' Rangers future assessed as the transfer scenario where Ibrox club would 'speak about' exit named

Former Rangers striker Kris Boyd has said that every player has their price as the rumours begin to swirl around star striker Alfredo Morelos once again.

The Colombian forward missed the latter stage of season 2021/22 that saw the club's Premiership title bid falter but they did manage to reach May's Europa League final, eventually losing to Eintracht Frankfurt. Clubs like Ligue 1 side Lille have been linked with his services in the past but fresh suitors have emerged.

La Liga club Sevilla are the latest in a long line to be named as those interested in Morelos, who has been at the Glasgow club since 2016, scoring 113 times and becoming their leading talisman in attack. While the likes of Kemar Roofe and Fashion Sakala, the 26-year-old is their obvious hitman.

Boyd though says that there will come a day where Rangers will have to contemplate life after the Colombian.

They're in a position of strength though heading into Champions League qualifiers and the new league season, although a valuation being met may end in an exit.

He told Sky Sports: "It's been every single transfer window since he's arrived that he's basically going to leave.

"There will be a day that he does but I think Rangers are in a good position. It's not a case that they have to sell.

"There's obviously room to go an negotiate with teams. Every single player, especially in Scotland, have a price tag.

"If somebody wants to meet that valuation then I'm sure Rangers will speak about it.

"But as it stands, he's a Rangers player and I'm sure he will return to pre-season ready to go and attack the Champions League qualifiers and Scottish Premiership."
