Alfredo Morelos on CRUTCHES as Rangers dealt derby hammer blow with star striker set to miss Celtic clash

Rangers have been dealt an Old Firm hammer blow after Alfredo Morelos was spotted on crutches at Glasgow Airport.

Photos emerged on social media of the crocked Colombian checking in for a flight to London, with claims the star striker is set to see a specialist.

Morelos sent home early from international duty due to “muscle overload” and this latest setback could end the frontman’s season.

The South American missed the last Celtic clash due to international duty with the Hoops hammering their rivals 3-0 at Parkhead in his absence.

And Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be selling rom this latest blow with Morelos bagging 13 league goals this season.

Rangers trail Celtic by three points in the Scottish Premiership title race and Sunday’s derby showdown has been described by many as a must-win.

When he was sent home by Colombia, a statement said: “The technical and medical staff of the Colombia men's senior national team reports that, after performing medical tests on player Alfredo Morelos, a muscle injury in the left thigh was confirmed, which prevented him from participating in the previous match against Bolivia and likewise does not allow him to participate in the next match of the qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.”
