Gio van Bronckhorst is hopeful he'll have Alfredo Morelos back soon - but he admits he might have to wait a bit longer on Kemar Roofe.
Van Bronckhorst is already looking to ease the burden on new man Antonio Colak, who has been a mainstay of their pre-season friendlies since arriving from PAOK. The £1.8m Croatian striker was named in the starting lineup against Sunderland, Blackpool and West Ham, and is likely to do so again when Tottenham come to Ibrox on Saturday.
It's a familiar problem for the Dutchman who had to field Joe Aribo as an auxiliary striker towards the end of last season with Morelos and Roofe both out. Now, he's just grateful to have another striker in Colak, who has given good account of himself in his minutes so far despite not hitting the back of the net yet.
Nevertheless, Rangers boss Van Bronckhorst is keen to get at least one of his other strikers back on the pitch soon. He revealed Morelos is likely to be back "in the coming weeks," but admits Roofe will be later as he continues his recovery.
He said after the 3-1 win over West Ham: "He's played almost every game and we've got the game ahead against Tottenham We made some changes just to make sure that they players aren't overworked and to give other players the minutes they need.
"Colak is our only natural striker at the moment. Hopefully we get Morelos back in the coming weeks, he will be back quicker than Kemar.
"Last season, I had no fit strikers so at least I have one now. Hopefully the other two will join Antonio in being available for selection."
