Mexican side Tigres will reportedly look to sign Rangers star Alfredo Morelos this month.
The Colombian has been a mainstay of Michael Beale's side since the Londoner stepped into the Ibrox hot seat, netting in the victory over Hibs while also leading the line against Aberdeen in the absence of Antonio Colak. The frontman has struggled for form so far this season with the 26-year-old netting just four goals, but has enjoyed an upturn in form under Beale while questions remain over his fitness.
However, his contract situation has yet to be resolved and he could agree a pre-contract move away from Rangers this month before leaving for nothing at the end of the Scottish Premiership campaign. That could see the Ibrox chiefs cash-in on the 26-year-old this month to recoup a transfer fee, and ambitious Mexican side Tigres are reportedly considering a move for the frontman after failing to land Rafael Santos Borre.
The Eintracht Frankfurt man had reportedly been top of boss Diego Cocca's shortlist this summer but the German side would not allow the star to leave for less than £8million. Several reports in Mexico report that Morelos has now become the club's number one target.
Tigres resume the Mexican League on Monday and they are also able to offer Concacaf Champions League football with a Round of 16 tie against Orlando City coming up. The club are looking to provide competition for veteran striker Andre-Pierre Gignac, who is now aged 37.
